Winegrowing in Marlborough is defined by three well-established sub-regions: Wairau Valley, Southern Valley and the Awatere Valley. Whilst we have Yealands Wine Group holdings in each valley, our Seaview Vineyard located in the renowned Awatere Valley is undoubtedly the centre-piece. As the southernmost, coolest and driest of Marlborough’s growing regions, its proximity to the Pacific coastline and strong off-shore winds impart a distinctive mineral and fresh herb character. Despite the relative geographical proximity of these sub-regions, a genuine diversity in characteristic style and fruit flavours allows wine drinkers to enjoy exploring the full Marlborough experience.
As well as significant company-owned vineyard holdings in Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay, the Yealands Wine Group is further supported by leased and grower partnerships both in these regions and in Central Otago.
A long-standing member of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our viticultural practices and ensuring the sustainable productivity of our vines. Through a multitude of sustainability initiatives, we continually work to enhance soil fertility, biodiversity and, ultimately, the consistent quality of our wine.
